Greetings! It's Topflight Stamps Tuesday! This is an "Anything Goes" week, so I decided to try a new technique and to use some of my new stamps!

Stamping Platform

Instructions:

1. Create a 6" square card from black textured cardstock. Set aside.
2. Cut a piece of 9" x 12" Mixed Media paper in half and place it onto a craft mat.
3. Use a small spatula to place a  pile of Yesteryear Yellow Magical Powder from the Steampunk Soiree Magical Pigment Powder Set onto the craft mat. 
4. Fold a baby wipe and press the top part of it into the pigment powder. 
5. Drag the baby wipe vertically on the Mixed Media paper, working from the outside edges towards the center.*
6. Dip the wipe into the powder and apply it again. Continue until the powder pile is gone. 
7. Clean your craft mat.
8. Place a small pile of Apothecary Azure Magical Powder from the Steampunk Soiree Magical Pigment Powder Set onto the craft mat. 
9. Use a clean baby wipe to repeat the process described above. The pigment powder colors will begin to blend. 
10. When the powder is gone, clean your mat.
11. Place a small pile of Pocket Watch Pewter Magical Powder onto the craft mat.
12. Use a clean baby wipe to add additional color to your background. 
13. When done with the powder, clean your craft mat, then heat set the background panel. *
14. Place the background panel onto a magnetic craft mat.
15. Place the Steamheart Gears Stencil PC-270 over the background panel and secure with low-tack tape and/or magnets.
16. Brush or sponge Graphite Elements Premium Dye Ink over the stencil onto the background panel to enhance the background panel.
17. When done, trim the background panel to 5 5/8" square and edge it with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink,
18. Use stipple brushes to apply specks of Mango Madness, Pumpkin Spice, Turquoise Gem, Night Sky VersaMagic Ink to the background. *
19. Heat set the panel and set it aside. 
20. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the cat and the dog from the Precision Paws Clear Stamp Set 1373 onto white Copic-friendly cardstock. 
21. Use the same ink to stamp the Time Tinkerer from the Time Tinkerer Clear Stamp Set 1374 onto white cardstock. 
22. Fussy-cut all three images.
23. Use Copic markers to color all three images, then edge them with a black marker. 
24. Use a White Gelly Roll Gel Pen to add highlights to the Time Tinkerer's eyes.
25. Use a white colored pencil or a white watercolor pencil to add highlights to the cat's eyes (I wanted them to be fainter as his eyes are covered by glasses) and to the watchface. Set the characters aside.
26. Use low-tack tape and/or magnets to secure the piece of mixed media paper left over from Step 17 onto the base of a stamping platform.
27. Place all three sentiment stamps from the Precision Paws Clear Stamp Set 1373  facedown onto the piece of mixed media paper.
28. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
29. Ink the sentiments with  Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. Re-ink and stamp again if needed to attain a good impression. 
30. Remove the stamped paper from the stamping platform. 
31. Add clear detail embossing powder to the wet ink, dump the excess powder back into its container, and heat set the powder. 
32. Use sentiment strip dies to cut the three sentiments, trim them, and edge them with the Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink.
33. Adhere the three sentiments to the reserved 5 5/8" square background panel.
34. Adhere the dog, cat, and the Time Tinkerer atop the sentiments as shown to create the card front.
35. Cut a piece of copper metallic cardstock to 5.75" square and use it to mat the card front. 
36. Back a small piece of the copper metallic cardstock with double-sided tape.
37. Use a sentiment die from the Like Clockwork Frame Moonstone Die Set to cut copper metallic cardstock. 
38. Adhere the sentiment as shown. 
39. Adhere the card front to the reserved 6" square black card.

Notes:

• I discovered the baby wipe/pigment powder technique on Instagram. Here's a link to the reel by @artful.layers .
• True confessions. My baby wipes were almost completely dry, so I misted them with water, then used the damp wipes to drag the powders. I was quite pleased with the results.
• I plan on experimenting further with this technique to see if it works better with moist baby wipes and with other pigment powders. 
• VersaMagic Inks are chalk-finish pigment inks. Stippling them adds opaque matte speckles, which work well with metallics.

Stamping Platform

Instructions:

1. Create a 6" x 6" card from black textured cardstock. Set aside.
2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the girl and the postbox from the Deliver Joy Clear Stamp Set 1376  onto white cardstock. 
3. Fussy-cut the images and color them with alcohol markers 
4. Use a black pen to edge them. Set both images aside.
5. Use the Building Silhouettes Die 58  to cut watercolor paper, which I used because I wanted the buildings to have texture from the start! Be sure to retain all of the windows and doors that popped out after die-cutting.
6. Place low-tack tape or Post-It Notes under the roofs of the Building Silhouettes die-cut. 
7. Brush or sponge Fired Brick Distress Ink over the tape onto the roofs. You'll notice that I also used tape to cover the chimneys and chimney pots. Remove and discard the tape.
8. Place low-tack tape or Post-It Notes to cover the newly inked roofs. 
9. Brush or sponge Lost Shadow Distress Ink over the tape onto the buildings.
10. Brush or sponge Antique Linen Distress Ink onto over the tape onto the building. 
11. Brush or sponge Black Soot Distress Ink over the tape, along the edges, and below the windows. Also used it to add black ink smudges to age the Building Silhouettes die-cut. 
12. Remove the tape from the Building Silhouettes die-cut. 
13. Use a black chalk pencil to create tiles on the roofs. 
14. Use grey and lavender chalk pencils to add shading and shadows to the roof.
15. Apply double-sided tape to the window openings on the reverse of the Building Silhouettes die-cut. 
16. Place the reserved cut-outs into their openings, then use watercolors to color them.
17. Select a piece of patterned paper from the Ombre 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad . This will become the background layer.
18. Adhere the Building Silhouettes die-cut to the patterned paper background. 
19. Adhere narrow Washi Tape to the base of the card front. 
20. Adhere the fussy-cut, colored girl and the postbox as shown.
21. Use magnets and/or low-tack tape to secure the card front to the base of a stamping platform.
22. Position the "Warm Wishes..." sentiment stamp from the Deliver Joy Clear Stamp Set 1376 facedown onto the Building Silhouettes die-cut as shown. 
23. Press the platform's lid onto the stamp and lift.
24. Ink the stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp.
25. Position the "Par Avion" sentiment stamp from the Deliver Joy Clear Stamp Set 1376 facedown on the upper right side between the buildings. 
26. Press the platform's lid onto the stamp and lift.
27. Ink the "Par Avion" stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp.
28. Position the "Deliver Joy" sentiment from the Deliver Joy set and position it facedown on the top left. 
29. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
30. Ink the stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. 
31. Realize that it's a little crooked and hit yourself in the head. Hard. Repeat as needed.
32. Trim the panel to 5.75" square and edge with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink.
33. Adhere the card front to the reserved black 6" x 6" square card.

Instructions:

1. Create an A6 card from white speckled navy cardstock. Set aside.
2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the Steampunk gentleman from the "Weird Is My Normal" Cling Mounted A6 Stamp Set twice — once onto white Copic-friendly cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
3. Use Copic markers to color the focal image. 
4. Place a strip of Bolted Layers Washi Tape 106 under the colored image. 
5. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the Steampunk gentleman and place it over its counterpart on the image panel as a mask.
6. Place the small rectangle from the Snap Thoughts DI-90 Die Set blades down on the image panel and secure with low-tack tape. 
7. Run the combination through your die-cut machine. 
8. Remove the image panel die-cut from the cutting die.
9.  Brush light grey dye ink over the masked image and onto a scrap of white cardstock. 
10. Use an Isopropyl Alcohol-filled Fine Spray Mister to spray the image panel die-cut. This will add white speckles to the image panel die-cut and will blend the ink but won't pill the paper.
11. Remove the mask from the Steampunk gentleman. 
12. Use a N6 Copic marker to darken his pupils, then use a White Gelly Roll Gel Pen to add catchlights to them. 
13. Use a fineliner and/or other Copic markers to touch up the image. 
14. Cut a piece of black cardstock so that it's slightly larger than the image panel die-cut and use this to mat the image panel. Set aside.
15. Select a piece of patterned paper from the Ink Drops - Midnight 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad to use as a background panel. 
16. Trim the patterned paper to 4.25" wide. Use a B39 Copic to edge the panel. 
17. Place the grey-inked cardstock scrap onto the base of a stamping platform and secure with magnets and/or low-tack tape. 
18. Place the "Happy Father's Day" sentiment stamp from the Classic Sentiments Clear Stamp Set facedown on the scrap. 
19. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
20. Ink the sentiment stamp with Medieval Blue VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. 
21. Re-ink and stamp again if needed to attain a good impression.
22. Use a sentiment strip cutting die to cut the sentiment. 
23. Use a Fancy Label Cutting Die and a Steampunk Corner Die to cut gold metallic cardstock.
24. Adhere the gold metallic Steampunk Corner die-cutss to the upper corners of the background panel.
25. Adhere the matted image panel as shown.
26. Adhere the stamped sentiment onto the gold Fancy Label Sentiment die-cut, then adhere the combination to the background panel as shown.
27. Adhere the completed background panel to the reserved white-speckled navy A6 card.

Instructions:

1. Create a 5" x 7" card from textured black cardstock. Set aside.
2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the rooster from the Crack Me Up Clear Stamp Set 1410 twice — once onto a panel of white Copic-friendly cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper. 
3. Use the coffee mug die (not the Memory Dex die) from the Warm Hugs Die Set DI-102 to cut the image panel and a scrap of repositionable sticker paper. 
4. Fussy-cut the oval coffee contents part of the coffee mug (outlined by dotted lines) sticker paper to create a mask. 
5. Position the sticker paper mask on the image panel die-cut.
6. Color the rooster with Copic markers. 
7. Fussy-cut the sticker paper rooster and place him over his counterpart on the image panel die-cut.
8. Brush or sponge Summer Sky Memento Ink over the image panel die-cut. 
9. Use the same ink to edge the image panel die-cut. 
10. Remove the mask from the rooster and the interior of the coffee mug. 
11. Use Copic markers to color the mug's contents. 
12. Use a white chalk pencil to add highlights to the coffee mug image panel die-cut, then set it aside.
13. Cut a piece of mixed media paper to 6" x 6.75" to create the background panel.
14. Use magnets to secure the background panel to a magnetic craft mat.
15. Brush or sponge Confetti Elements Premium Dye Ink onto the bottom ~1.75" of the background panel. 
16. Sponge Lemon Drop Elements Premium Dye Ink over the rest of the background panel, blending the inks where the colors meet.
17. Use magnets or low-tack tape to secure the Radiant Rise 6x6 Stencil PC-257 to the top of the background panel. 
18. Brush Sundance Elements Premium Dye Ink over the stencil onto the background panel to add a tone on tone effect.
19. Trim the background panel to 4.75" x 6.75". 
20. Use Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink to edge the background panel.
21. Add Inspire Washi Tape 2  horizontally across the bottom part of the background panel as shown. 
22. Adhere the image panel die-cut to the background panel so that the base of the coffee mug is sitting on the washi tape. 
23. Adhere the background panel to the reserved black 5" x 7" card. 
24. Add a Snarky Small Talk Sticker sentiment to finish the card.

Quiet Time

It's Topflight Stamps Tuesday! Chou and Flowers is our product focus this week! Their whimsical and wonderful Altitude Winter Story Clear Stamp Set features book dwellings and a lovely fairy, so I created a scenic card with it.

Instructions:

1. Create an A6 card from Ash Textured Cardstock. Set aside.
2. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the fairy from the Altitude Winter Story Clear Stamp Set twice — once onto a panel of Bristol Paper and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
3. Heat set the Bristol paper version. 
4. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version adding some curved volume along the left hand side of her hair. 
5. Place the sticker paper version atop the fairy on the Bristol paper as a mask.
6. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the books from the Altitude Winter Story Clear Stamp Se twice — once onto the right side of the fairy on the Bristol paper panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
7. Heat set the Bristol paper version of the book houses. 
8. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.
9. Clean and dry the books stamp and reposition it next to the other set of books.
10. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the books twice — once on the Bristol paper panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper. 
11. Heat set the image panel. 
12. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it atop its counterpart. 
13. Use the two tree dies from the Roadway Vistas Die Set 78 by AALL and Create to cut sticker paper. 
14. Place the sticker paper trees on either side of the books on the image panel. 
15. Place a piece of scrap acetate horizontally over the image panel slightly above the base of the book houses and the trees. 
16. Sponge or brush Pumice Stone Distress Ink over the the tape onto the base of the image panel.
17. Clean and dry the acetate and place it on across the image panel, covering the grey area. 
18. Brush Tumbled Blue Distress Ink over the top of the acetate and the masked images to create a blue sky. 
19. Brush Della Blue Elements Premium Dye Ink by Lavinia Stamps over the sky to deepen the sky's color.
20. Use a water-filled Mini Fine Spray Mister by Spectrum Noir and lightly mist the image panel. 
21. Thoroughly heat set the image panel.
22. Lift all masks and color the image panel with Copic markers. 
23. Use the Bold Stardust Clear Glittering Gelly Roll Gel Ink Pen by Sakura and a Colorless Blender to color the fairy's wings.
24. Wipe the excess glitter off of the Blender's Nib.
25. Rinse the nib of the blender with Colorless Blender solution.
26. Mist the image panel with Cactus Gold Glitz Spritz. Wipe the spray bottle's nozzle with a paper towel.
27. Use a paper towel to dab any big blots. 
28. Heat set the panel, then mist it again with the Cactus Gold Glitz Spritz to deepen the glittery loveliness. Clean the spray bottle's nozzle again.
29. Use a die from a rectangle A6 die set to cut the image panel. 
30. Use the next largest die to cut white textured cardstock. 
31. Mat the image panel die cut with the white cardstock.
32. Adhere the matted image panel to the reserved grey A6 card. 
33. Add a sentiment sticker from the Sentiment Stickers 6 from the Uplifting Collection to finish the card.

Fiesta!

It's Topflight Stamps Tuesday, an "Anything Goes" week, and it's Cinco de Mayo! Here's a festive card created with the llama and sombrero from theZinski Art 59 Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set by Elena Zinski for PaperArtsy. The llama was feeling parched in the desert and he wanted to celebrate, so I supplied him with a margarita made with the cocktail from the ENB06 Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set by Nicci Battilana for PaperArtsy.

Stamping Platform

Instructions:

1. Create a 5" x 7" card from Caribbean Sea cardstock. Set aside.
2. Using a stamping platform, place the llama stamp from the Zinski Art 59 Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set facedown on a piece of white cardstock.
3. Place the sombrero stamp from the same set facedown atop his head. 
4. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the sombrero stamp and lift. Remove the llama stamp from the platform.
5. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
6. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to ink the sombrero stamp and then stamp it twice — once onto the the white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper. 
7. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it onto its counterpart on the image panel as a mask.
8. Position the llama stamp so his head (ears mostly) are on top of the sombrero mask. 
9. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamp and lift.
10. Ink the llama stamp with  Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamp it twice — once onto the image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper. 
11. Position the cocktail stamp from the ENB06 Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set facedown on the left of the llama. 
12. Ink the stamp with  Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamp twice —once onto the image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper. 
13. Remove the mask from the sombrero and place it onto a piece of acetate to keep it sticky so you can re-use it later.
14. Color the images with Copic markers. 
15. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the llama and the cocktail. 
16. Place the sticker paper versions of all three images atop their counterparts as masks. 
17. Cut the image panel with the largest die from the Crea-Nest-Lies XXL Double Stitched Rectangle Die Sets. 
18. Place the image panel die-cut onto a magnetic craft mat and secure with magnets and/or low-tack tape.
19. If you have the Acetate Hills Mask/Stencil Set  (I misplaced mine), place a one of the masks horizontally across the image panel level with the llama's legs and secure with tape and/or magnets.  Alternately, place a piece of acetate onto a cutting mat. Place a metal wavy ruler atop the acetate and cut along the edge of the ruler to create homemade masks. 
20. Place the Sun and Clouds 6x6 Stencil towards the top of the image panel. 
21. Brush or sponge Summer Sky Memento Ink over the top of the stencil onto the image panel die-cut to start to create a cloudy sky. 
22. Keeping the stencil in place, lightly brush or sponge Angel Pink over the the top of the stencil onto the image panel die-cut to add a slightly purply/pink tinge to the sky.
23. Rotate the Sun and Clouds 6x6 Stencil and move it downward on the image panel. 
24. Brush both colors of dye ink over the top of the stencil. 
25. Continue to rotate, flip, move the stencil, and apply ink until your cloudy sky is complete.
26. Cover the sky part of the image panel to protect it. 
27. Place another mask/stencil from the Acetate Hills Mask/Stencil Set horizontally across the image panel die-cut about 1" from the bottom. 
28. Brush or sponge Desert Sand Memento Ink over the bottom of the stencil onto the die-cut image panel to create the desert sand. 
29. Move the stencil/mask up and continue to apply Desert Sand Dye Ink over the bottom of the stencil/mask onto the image panel. 
30. Unmask all of the stamped elements. 
31. Use a Bold Stardust Clear Glittering Gelly Roll Gel Pen to add a glittery salt rim to the cocktail glass. 
32. Use a White Gelly Roll Gel Pen to add highlights to the cocktail glass and the llama's sunglasses. 
33. Use a E43 Copic marker to ground the cocktail glass and the llama on the desert.
34. Use the small dies from the Regency Bunting Die Set 44 to cut six white cardstock flags.
35. Color the flags with Copic markers. 
36. Use alphabet rub-ons to add the letters to the flags. 
37. String the sentiment bunting together with black and white baker's twine and adhere/attach the bunting to the top of the image panel die-cut.
38. Adhere the image panel die-cut to the reserved Caribbean Sea card.
39. Trim the card so that there's a 1/8" border around the image panel die-cut.

Instructions:

1. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the gnome from the Mini Gnomes Rubber Stamp Set 2 twice — once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper.
2. Use Copic markers to color the gnome.
3. Fussy-cut the sticker paper gnome and place the cut-out over its counterpart as a mask. 
4. Use  the second largest die from the Frayed Frames Die Set 26 to cut the image panel. 
5. Use the largest die from the same set to cut white cardstock.
6. Cut repositionable sticker paper with a crescent moon die from the Roadway Visties Die Sest 78 and place it on the upper left corner of the image panel die-cut.
7. Move the image panel die-cut to a magnetic crafting surface.
8. Place the flatest acetate mask from the Mini Hills Mask/Stencil Set over the bottom portion of the image panel die-cut right above the gnome's feet and secure it in place with low-tack tape or magnets.
9. Sponge or brush Dark Denim Elements Dye Ink over the outside edges of image panel die-cut to create a night sky.
10. Sponge or brush Blue Lagoon Elements Dye Ink onto the image panel die-cut to fill in the night sky, taking care to blend as you go. 
11. Continue to apply the two colors of blue ink until you're happy with the coverage.
12. Lightly mist the image panel to further blend the inks and to add some light mottling.
13. With the acetate mask still in place, position the Shooting Star Stencil over the image panel die-cut and secure with low-tack tape or magnets.
14. Sponge white pigment (or hybrid) ink over the Shooting Star Stencil to add the stars to the background. 
15. Remove the stencil and the masks then heat-set the image panel die-cut.
16. Trace the acetate mask onto a piece of cardstock or thin packaging and fussy-cut along the trace line to create a handmade mask. 
17. Place the upper part of the handmade mask on the horizon line of the die-cut image panel. 
18. Sponge or brush Pine Elements Ink over the handmade mask to create a grassy area. 
19. Sponge or Brush Lime Punch Elements Ink to create the grassy area.
20. Continue to apply the two colors of green ink until you're happy witht he coverage.
21. Tear a piece of cardstock, then sponge the Pine Elements over the top of the torn part of the cardstock to add detail and shading to the grass.
22. Remove the masks from the moon and the gnome, then adhere the image panel die-cut to the white die-cut.
23. Create a card that is .25" larger than the matted image panel from navy cardstock.
24. Adhere a sentiment sticker to the card as shown to complete the card.
